Why should I use this arrangement?
The Department of Education and Training recently conducted a rigorous tender process to select a preferred supplier which meets the department’s strict criteria to ensure customers are receiving a value for money product/service for the level of insurance cover required. The terms and conditions of the arrangement are written to protect the department and its business units.
Use of the SOA for all school study tours and DET-funded business travel has been mandated due to the need to ensure that the appropriate levels of insurance are obtained. Purchase of travel insurance through the SOA will ensure that all travellers receive the same level of cover and emergency assistance, which includes the evacuation of insured persons to the nearest safe and acceptable location in an emergency situation.
